Once a draw took place, the Pool Slide company had a gazillion hot prospects to follow up, all of whom “glowed in the dark” because they had shown interest in a Pool Slide!
Conversions were easy – as the Pool Slide company offered each homeowner with not only a Special Deal on the slide – but also the FREE VACATION if they committed by Friday that week!
The company ran the FB Contest numerous times during a quarter.

Step 1: Target The Right People
No surprise… first thing is to determine your target audience – just common sense of course!
Step 2: Give Away Your Product Or Service As A Contest Prize
Select one of your products or services as the Contest Prize.
This way, you know that whoever “enters” the contest is a warm prospect!
Let’s face it, if someone enters a contest to win “landscaping services” for their home,
it’s pretty likely they want some “landscaping!”
So you are attracting “warm leads”.
You run your contest for 1 month (4 weeks).
A condition is “only 1 entry per person”.
At say, 5pm each Friday during the month, you have a Weekly Preliminary Draw.
This gives you the opportunity to follow-up all of a week’s participants starting the following Monday (whilst they’re still red-hot!).
Remember, people can only enter once – so if they entered in Week #1, they cannot enter again.
This gives you the golden opportunity to follow them up the very next week!
So if you get 500 entrants in Week #1, you can follow up 499 of them in Week #2.
All 4 Weekly Selected Entrants are then in the Final Draw after the 4th week.
You simply randomly draw one of these 4 people after the month-long contest has closed.
Step 3: Create The Facebook Advertisement
Then create the Facebook advertisement that excites your audience into entering the contest and providing you with their contact details.
Choose whether you want your entrants to provide a “photo” (eg: The Ugliest Kitchen Contest) or maybe a ”caption”… or just their plain old name & contact details alone
Step 4: Have A Landing Page Or Messenger Entry Mechanism
When someone clicks on your ad, send them to your Landing Page or Messenger Bot to enter.
Keep your content “simple” in these instances – don’t confuse them.
Show your prize & details – & invite them to enter ……. no waffle!
Remember, your aim is to CAPTURE THEIR CONTACT DETAILS.
Understandably, include the relevant Terms & Conditions & comply with
Facebook’s regulations related to running contests.

Step 5: Terms And Conditions
Of course, you need to have proper Terms & Conditions.
And as outlined on Facebook’s Promotional Terms and Conditions,
you must acknowledge the promotion is in no way associated with Facebook.
EXAMPLE:
“This contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook.”
“Per lnstagram rules, this promotion is in no way sponsored, administered, or associated with lnstagram, Inc. By entering, entrants confirm that they are 13+ years of age, release lnstagram of responsibility, and agree to lnstagram’s terms of use.”
Step 6: Follow-Up Entrants
Upon gaining your prospects’ contact details, it’s vital that you have a “follow-up” plan.
In other words, have a plan in place to communicate your ”stunning offer” via phone, email, text, Messenger… or ALL of these!
We’re sure you’ve heard a million times… “the money is in the follow-up!”
It’s no good, creating an avalanche database of warm prospects, and then doing nothing with it!
(You might laugh, but we’ve seen the “lack of follow-up scenario” all too often!)
Your target audience will be “glowing in the dark” – so make sure you take the next step!
